The Women’s Golf Coaches Association has announced that Anne Walker, head coach of Stanford University, is the 2023-24 Division I Jackie Steinmann WGCA National Coach of the Year Presented by Golf Pride.
Led by Walker, the Cardinal won five tournaments throughout the season, including the final three: the Pac-12 Championship, the NCAA Cle Elum Regional, and the NCAA Championship. The national title marks Stanford’s third since 2015, the most in the country by any women’s or men’s program since 2008. Five Stanford golfers earned WGCA All-America honors following the season, including the WGCA Co-Freshman of the Year Presented by StrackaLine Paula Martín Sampedro.
In addition, the WGCA has announced the 2023-24 Golf Pride WGCA Regional Coaches of the Year. The 2023-24 Golf Pride WGCA Regional Coaches of the Year are as follows:
South Region Coach of the Year: Kelley Hester, Clemson University
East Region Coach of the Year: Kim Lewellen, Wake Forest University
Central Region Coach of the Year: Garrett Runion, Louisiana State University
West Region Coach of the Year: Anne Walker, Stanford University

The Women’s Golf Coaches Association, founded in 1983, is a non-profit organization representing women’s collegiate golf coaches. The WGCA was formed to encourage the playing of college golf for women in correlation with a general objective of education and in accordance with the highest tradition of intercollegiate competition.
